This tool extracts a portrait from an ID-card image or portrait crop and makes a standard photo. After upload, the browser checks the file and prepares a face-focused crop; old, soft and low-resolution photos are allowed to continue into repair instead of being rejected only for having few pixels. Ordinary portraits stay local. ID-card crops can use the private high-quality cutout option so card text and security patterns are not treated as hair or clothing. Only a missing face, unusable image or clearly unsupported pose stops the workflow.

Only the face-focused portrait crop is sent to this site over a temporary same-host connection; the service does not save the source or result and does not call a third-party image API. This avoids the gray card-pattern fringe produced by the browser-only path. Clear, front-facing checks still happen in the browser first.

This free open-source repair step is enabled by default for old and soft photos. It may estimate and redraw missing clothing, hair or facial texture; it cannot recover the original identity detail. Use the result as a restoration or preview, then compare it with the source before any official submission.
